Common questions
How do I set the order?
Drag the rows in the list, or use the small arrows on each one. The numbers show the order the finished file will follow, and it is not the order you happened to add them in unless you leave it that way.
How many files can I merge here?
Two to ten on this page. If you need more than that, start in the workspace instead — the underlying tool takes up to twenty.
Can I mix PDFs with Word files?
Yes. Anything that is not already in the output format is converted first, then everything is joined. A PDF and two Word files come back as one document.
What format is the merged file?
By default whichever format most of your files already are, so merging three PDFs gives you a PDF and no unnecessary conversion happens. Say "merge them into a single PDF" or "into one Word document" in the sentence if you want a particular one.
Are the page numbers renumbered?
The pages run continuously in the merged file, but page numbers printed inside your original documents are part of those pages and stay as they are. Ask for a fresh table of contents if you need one.
How big can the files be?
Up to 10 MB each. The limit is per file, not for the whole set.
Do you watermark the result?
No.
Can I merge and then translate the result?
Yes, in one run — say so in the sentence and you get one finished file back. The merged document also stays in this conversation for anything else you want to do to it.
Do I need an account?
No. Your first merge runs without signing up.
Does it change my original files?
No. The merge produces a new file and leaves everything you uploaded alone.
